FIRE
Financial Independence, Retire Early
We are passionate about FIRE planning because it empowers people to take control of their financial future. Beyond early retirement, FIRE is really about freedom, choice, and designing a life that aligns with your values and goals.
With past experience in a career focused on financial planning, we now coach clients through their FIRE journey with practical strategies for budgeting, saving, and intentional spending. We work with DINKs, SINKs, and anyone pursuing financial independence, helping them create a clear roadmap and take actionable steps toward their goals.

FIRE is a financial approach focused on achieving financial independence and the option to retire earlier than the traditional retirement age. It emphasizes intentional spending, high savings rates, and disciplined investing to build a portfolio capable of supporting long-term living expenses.
The core idea is simple: by saving and investing a larger portion of your income, you can grow your wealth faster and gain the flexibility to choose how and when you work. Many people pursuing FIRE aim to build a portfolio that can sustainably support their lifestyle for decades, providing greater freedom and control over their future.
For SINKs (Single Income, No Kids) and DINKs (Dual Income, No Kids), FIRE can be especially powerful. Without the significant financial costs associated with raising children, many individuals and couples have greater flexibility to prioritize saving and investing. This can allow them to build wealth more quickly and potentially reach financial independence sooner, creating more opportunities to design a life centered around freedom, experiences, and long-term financial security.
There are several common variations of FIRE that reflect different lifestyles and financial goals. In addition to these well-known approaches, we’ve also developed our own variation—Travel FIRE—which focuses on pursuing financial independence while intentionally prioritizing travel and life experiences along the journey. It’s a concept we’re passionate about and one we’re excited to share with you.
While Travel FIRE is the path we personally embrace, we recognize that everyone’s goals and priorities are different. We want to help support and guide you along whichever FIRE path best aligns with your lifestyle, values, and financial goals.
FIRE Explained:
Fat FIRE
Designed for those who want financial independence while maintaining a higher-spending lifestyle. This approach typically requires a larger portfolio.
Lean FIRE
Focuses on a minimalist lifestyle with lower annual expenses, allowing individuals to reach financial independence with a smaller investment portfolio.
Barista FIRE
Combines partial financial independence with part-time or lower-stress work to cover some living expenses while investments continue to grow.
Coast FIRE
Achieved when someone has invested enough early in life that their portfolio can grow to support retirement without requiring significant additional contributions.
Nomad FIRE
Combines financial freedom with location flexibility. Focus on building income streams that support a travel-oriented life, often through remote work and lower-cost living.
Expat FIRE
Centered on a goal of living abroad, balancing cost savings with experiencing life in another country. It leverages global cost differences while prioritizing lifestyle and cultural fulfillment.
Travel FIRE
While we are here to support people pursuing any version of FIRE, we’ve personally centered our lifestyle around what we call Travel FIRE.
Travel FIRE is about working toward financial independence while intentionally prioritizing travel along the way. Instead of delaying life experiences until retirement, this approach focuses on building wealth while actively exploring the world.
For us, travel is not an afterthought—it’s part of our intentional spending plan. By budgeting carefully, saving consistently, and investing for the future, we’re able to incorporate international travel into our lives while still making steady progress toward financial independence.
At its core, Travel FIRE is about balance:
Saving and investing for long-term freedom
Spending intentionally on meaningful experiences
Designing a lifestyle that reflects your values today, not just in retirement
We believe financial independence should support the life you want to live—not delay it. Travel FIRE allows us to pursue our long-term goals while creating unforgettable experiences along the journey.
